A Perfect Plan

A Perfect Plan

"And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT

Life is not a straight road but one with twists and turns, bends and bumps. No matter how detailed and well thought out your life's plan is, things may not always go as anticipated. But those are the defining moments when life makes a distinction between winners, participants and mere spectators. Life happens to everyone, even the best of us. But we are not what we go through. Being in a storm and having a storm within are two very different things. Ships sailing on water are fine as long as the water does not get into them.

The post on Empowering Emotions highlights the need to shape your life by choosing thoughts and emotions that energize and fuel you forward. One of the ways to achieve this is by practicing gratitude. Be deliberate to give thanks for something in your life. Be grateful for what is good right now, or for an expected outcome, even if things do not look like it or make any sense presently. Let your gratitude be anchored on an inner persuasion that there is a divine power orchestrating things beyond the limitations of your sight and comprehension.

The knowledge that a Sovereign God is for you should bring a sense of calm and reassurance. Remember, He Who is your all-powerful loving Father. He sees the end from the beginning and holds your times and seasons in His hands. Things may not be going as planned, but He has a plan for you that is still working. His plan is perfect and in it all things work together for your good. He just wants you to always keep a good attitude, a cheerful countenance and a grateful heart.

So, plan your life in detail, and crown it with God's perfect plan for you; not complaining or criticizing, but trusting in His wisdom and ability with plenty of gratitude.

Challenge: Every day, and every conscious moment, find something to be grateful for. There is always something and if you look for it, or think about it, you will find it.
